Airship Magazine No. 137 vom September 2002
Im Airship Magazine, der Mitgliederzeitschrift der Airship Association, vom September 2002, erschien folgende Meldung über Zukunft in Brand:
'Zukunft in Brand'
Shareholder initiative attempts to rescue CargoLifter
An initiative of CargoLifter shareholders named 'Zukunft in Brand' has established a trust account in order to collect enough funds to overcome the insolvency of the company. They want to provide an opportunity for shareholders and other investors to pay into the company without being exposed to the risk that the money ineffectively ends up in the insolvency.
The collected funds shall only be transferred to the company when, together with bank credits, public funds and contributions of other investors, a sum is reached which can terminate the insolvency condition, and beyond that, if an amount of 30 million euros remains to continue business operation. In this case, the depositors acquire convertible bonds of the company, which can be converted to shares as of April 2003 at a fixed price of euro 2.00. Further, if the attempt cannot be achieved before the end of 2002, the depositors shall be reimbursed of their contribution (deducted by a minor managing fee).
The initiators expect that 30 million euros will be sufficient to produce several CL-75 AirCrane transport balloons, introduce them into the market and convince the capital market of the future potential of the company's business.

Yes!
Finally we reached the "English-speaking-Countries".
I do really hope, it is not too late.
Even I believe the description "Escrow-Account", not "Trust-Account" fits better, the article spoken of is an remarkable improvement to our point.
Maybe we should force the information-flow to GB or US, thinking of possibibly existing connections to ATG or the US-settling of CL in New-Bern.
By the Way: Does/Did Cargolifter have/had any Employees in US ?
Greeetings from Nuremberg
Frodo.

To improve this contact I would like to suggest to install a sub-forum for English speaking supporters of ZiB, of course it would be essential to denote this as an english forum otherwise the chance would be very small to find this among the huge number of german forums.Frodo Baggins hat geschrieben:Finally we reached the "English-speaking-Countries".
Addionally I suggest to indicate the headlines of the main forums bilingual.

ZUKUNFT GESTALTEN - NACHHALTIGE INNOVATIONEN FÖRDERN
On the ATG home page one can read under the headline BUSINESS NEWS:
"Yesterday [25.09.2002] a Letter of Intent was signed between Cargolifter, ATG and the technical university BTU Cottbus for a cooperation".
Therefore, I guess ATG should be extremely interested in keeping CargoLifter alive. Consequently, AGT should support "Zukunft in Brand - ZiB" by placing a link to the ZiB web site on its home page.
Has ZiB already asked for such a link?
Then, I suppose we will receive requests in English, when additionally a link is set from the English ZiB home to the forum, which still is missing.
By the way, the reason for discussing here in English is to encourage Non-Germans to contribute here in English.

Today on a worldwide airship mailing list was announced that Mr. Nigel Wells of Airspeed Airships has to sell his wonderful 1:20 scale model of the ancient British airship R-101. The remotely controlled model flew for 20 miles on a cold December day in 2000, being airborne for over an hour.
This is the announcement:
--- BEGIN
With not a little regret Nigel Wells, the proprietor of Airspeed Airships, has had to vacate his premises in East Kent (UK) and needs to sell his prototype flying scale model of R101. See picture and full description at http://www.airship.demon.co.uk/airspeed.html
The selling price for this wonderful flying model is now GBP1600/e2535/$2475. That price includes all the radio control equipment and the mooring tower, which is a scale model of that erected at Cardington in the 1920s.

Verflixt! Jetzt bräuchten wir den Förderverein!
You have to consider: 2535 Euros is not too much. "Scala", the 1:25 scale model of the CL 160, is said to have a material value of 8000 Euros. And the R-101 model is, with limitations, capable for outdoor missions, what does not apply to "Scala". Also, a mooring mast is included.
That item is really an occasion!
Darn! Now we should have a promotion association!

Initiative Zukunft in Brand - Wir verleihen CargoLifter Auftrieb!

Hi pestw!
Well, the question is: Even if the price for that model appears to be rather fair, is it really useful ?
Mind, It's really large that one, isn't it?
Are you sure you won't need an admission of the German Luftfahrtbundesamt to use it outside the hall. What's that outside-use-capabilty of use for, if we don't get the admission ?
But at least it's really fine Souvenir.
